Cluster budget: spreading $100 or $1,000 around one ranking post
A single article is ranking and you want a series around it. Here is how we would split the money, with the price ranges in plain view.

Start from the price list, not from a number you like
Links here cost from $1 up to about $500. Price scales with the donor's Domain Rating, organic traffic and niche, and there is no subscription, so you pay for each placement only once.
A high quality backlink service is judged less by its cheapest row than by how well you can filter the expensive ones. Sort by traffic, Domain Rating, referring domains, language and niche, and read three donor sites as a visitor would before you buy from any of them.
Placements are permanent dofollow. The article is written automatically unless you give instructions or bring your own. Payment comes from your dashboard balance, and the basket holds everything uncharged until you approve it.
One more thing before the table. Prices here are per placement, and each one is a separate decision. If a donor at $12 looks tired and one at $30 looks alive, pay the $30.
Think of the money as seed. Seed goes in once and is left to grow, whereas fertiliser is applied again and again, and placements here behave like the first kind, which is deliberate.
What the ranges tend to mean
Ranges follow the platform's published floor and ceiling; the middle bands are our rough reading, not a price list.

Two plans, both invented as examples
Neither plan is a promise of results. They are splits that keep you able to learn something from each purchase.
The $100 plan
Three test links of about $10 each on small relevant blogs, one at about $40 on a stronger site, kept as a reserve. Order one, wait, then order the next.
The $1,000 plan
One link near $250 for the pillar page, four around $60 for supporting posts, and the rest held back until the six-month read. Never spend it all in a week.
The no-links plan
Spend nothing, rewrite the weakest section, add one original table. If the post is thin, that beats any placement. It is a real option, and we will tell you so.

Rules we would keep in a notebook
Never buy the series before the pillar has had a season
Buy the cheaper test links first, then the expensive one
Link to the pillar from supporting posts on your own site as well
Record every order with its date and its target URL
Stop adding links when the page stops being the weak point
Our read
A little, aimed well, beats a lot, scattered
A modest budget on one deserving page tells you more than the same money spread over ten. If you want a reference for the vocabulary first, read the glossary and then open the marketplace.
